I promised long periods of neglect and I guess I'm delivering on that promise. There has been a gread deal I need to put up on this site. For now I'll just post a photograhp that Marie got from Earl Sherman on Mercer Island outside Seattle. It is a picture of Earl Anderson, his wife Elsie and Bobbie (Elsie's son from a previous marriage.

At the family reunion in Sörbyn we took a couple of large group photos. I thought the only way to indicate who was who in the pictures was with a map. I have one of the photos and a map of who is who. Eventually I'll get the other one done as well.

I got scans of some pictures of Dell (Leeman) Libby and her family. Dell was the older sister of Laura (Leeman) Anderson.

  • A photograph of Charles Libby, oldest son of Dell and Frank Libby.  Date and location unknown.
  • A photograph of Dell and Frank Libby. Date and location unknown.
  • A photograph of Dell, Roland (their younger son) and Frank Libby. In front of their house in Monson, date unknown.

I got a copy of a picture of John Everett Anderson and his family from around 1928.

July 25, 2004

The trip to Sweden was wonderful and I have a number of new images to add to the web site. I'm working on getting myself out from under the backlog of work that piled up here, so it may take a little while before I get them all posted. When I got home, I found some pictures of Raymond Anderson and Barbara Anderson waiting for me. I have to get the originals back to Barbara, so I've scanned them in here. First there are four pictures of Raymond Anderson (1, 2, 3, and 4) and seconds three pictures of Raymond and Barbara Anderson 1, 2, and 3).

July 17, 2004

We have been in Sörbyn and people have been asking us about where we come from so I've added a link to a web page with some maps and pictures. And to make it easier for people who wanted copies of the Pictures we have from the reunion, here is a link

Updated operating system on machine to Fedora Core 2.

April 19, 2004

I've done some work renaming some files and updating some links to make it possible to burn this web site to a CD for relatives (my father) without internet access or with slow internet access.

April 17, 2004

Wow, has it really been 6 weeks since I've done anything here? My continuing excuse is the waves of viruses continues keeping me busy nights and weekends.

On Tuesday April 14th Fred Broman sent me a couple of pictures he took on a snowmobile trip to Hultet (about 3 miles southwest of Sörbyn) which is where Lars Olof Anderson lived prior to emmigrating to maine.

  • Picture of the only house left in Hultet.
  • Picture of the food cellar of another house of unknown age.

FInally back to doing some work on this after a rather rough month (multiple hardware failures at work, waves of viruses and hard drive on my desktop at home failing).

On February 14th Fred Broman sent me a picture of Nils Anton Broman and his fourth wife Andrietta with NAs granddaughter Lisa.

I've added a scanned copy of a genealogy of the Sawyers and Drakes of Piscatiquis County, Maine (1979 edition) by Fred Sawyer (a distant cousin). There are references to Andersons on pages 106 107, 130, 131, 165 and 166. I've also got the 1987 supplement which I'll probably add at some time and the 1945 edition which I probably won't unless someone asks.

I've added a scanned copy of the 1900 census for Piscataquis county. There is a reference to Lars Olof Anderson and family on page 199a.

I enabled viewing of deceased people by un-authenticated people in phpGedView. There really is not much data there yet. It is on my to-do list but data entry takes time. Eventually I'll add logins for those family members who are interested. The phpGedView configuration needs a little more tweaking, the update functions cause some odd messages.

Uploaded several pictures:

  • Picture of August Victor Anderson from sometime in the 1940s. Milton Anderson said he took it with a box camera he bought during WWII.

A few scans of obituaries:

January 25, 2004

Created index page  and update log for the genealogy section of the web site.

Added scans of a letter from Kristian Wikman to Lars Olof and Albertina Anderson on April 10th 1909. What I have is a copy of a copy and it has a bit chopped off. I'm hoping to get access to the original so I can get a better scan. The scribbles on page 4 were done by either Glennys or Norma (granddaughters of Lars Olof).

There are three images pages 1 and 4 and pages 2 and 3 and an english translation.

Glennys and Norma also had a family bible that belonged to their mother (Aldena E. Minnett). I have scans of three sections, the first has Aldena's and John Everetts marriage and births listed and a penciled in death date. The second

lists children and the third lists deaths.

January 24, 2004

I upgraded the disk in my desktop and have moved the old disk (27 GB) to the server where this web site runs.  This should provide plenty of disk space for anything I want to put here.

January 23, 2004

Installed phpGedView and populated it with the data from Gramps.   At  the moment all access is password protected.  I'm not sure I want this data hanging out for anyone to see at this time.  I added administrative IDs for Therese and myself.
